Abandoned French Mansion

For our next day of exploring my friends and I got up very early, well before the sunrise heading out to find a beautiful "French" mansion, nicknamed by other explorers based on the family that used to live there and the incredible style of art and architecture throughout the home. The house itself was built in 1774 and was last sold in 1998 to what I assume where the last owners. We arrived at the location while it was still dark so we had to wait a little while for the sun to come up before exploring to much inside. Watching the sun come up from inside such a beautiful place was a really cool experience, you could imagine waking up in this house early and sitting in the dining room downstairs, with its unique glass windows letting all the light in. The First floor was my favorite part of this house, it had a nice old fashioned stair case, hidden behind it was a secret room and tiny bathroom which I thought was odd but at the same time could appreciate that level of privacy. The Living room area was separated into two large rooms, one with an intricately carved fireplace high ceiling with an old painting fading away in places with the mold and mildew but you could still the angelic babies in baroque style in the center of the it. There was a piano in the corner and a rug rolled up in the corner which Amber and Brandon unrolled and placed back in the center for a nice pop of red color. The a joining room was also lovely, its walls were wooden paneled and it had three huge arched windows facing the front of the property, it was scattered with various old objects like a blue bicycle and old magazines. The room to the far corner was the library which you can see from the photos in the more galleries tab it was stunning. With tons of books on all kinds of topics everywhere, an old vintage chair and high painted ceilings, it was perfect to shoot in. This place took us a little while to explore as there were so many rooms upstairs, we found family photos left on the floors, old home work from the young girl that used to call this place home, and one of the oddest things we found were what looks like blood samples on microscope slides, a lot of them, in a box sitting on the stair case, I will let your imagination decide if it was human or animal and why someone would have this in their house because truthfully I have no idea. Between the pink walls in one room, and peeling floral wall paper in another, we had a lot to shoot. From the research I have done online about this location I haven't found much, one old photo of the outside and some names of people I could't find much info on, however it is roomer to be the home of a wealthy couple who’s marriage was failing apparently the father took their daughter and fled the country with the wife following shortly after, the property reaming vacant ever since (with the electric some how still on). I say roomer due to the lack of evidence I have found so far to support those claims however I am going to continue to look into the history of this home and if any more non location sensitive information is found I will add an update here. All in all this house was amazing, one of the more intact structures we have been into I believe it would be amazing restored, as much as I personally enjoy its musty decay. Be sure to check out the shots I got in the more galleries tab and check out my friends videos on youtube The Need For Exploration and their epic photos on IG @the_need_for_exploration and @xurbanxxamberx
